Hello? Is this thing on? *awkward silence* Um, hi there. I'm The Misadventuress. Some of you might know me from such escapades as Inadvertently Watching Skeezy Informercials at the Gym, The Possum Incident of 2010, or The Earbud Strangler. If you're unfamiliar with these glorious gems of awkwardness, have no fear. I'll be sure the relay them in time on this, my shiny new blog.
I've finally decided to make the leap into the twenty-first century (albeit a little over a decade late), and create my own little corner of cyberspace. It's here that I'm going to share amusing anecdotes of awkwardness (which tend to happen to me on a much more frequent basis than desired), musings on things... or whatever (could that BE anymore vague?), and maybe a picture or two from our travels.
I suppose introductions could be helpful, right? As I mentioned, I'm The Misadventuress. Known for getting myself into socially awkward situations and attempting to find my way out of them by laughing too loudly and blushing a lot. Works like a charm. I'm married to a fabulous guy, The Count, who enjoys Sooner Football, GAAP, snowboarding and John Deere. He likes things the way he likes them, and is demonstrably disappointed anytime he has to fly coach. We are the adoring cat-parents of Kitten Louise, who can do little wrong, and has serious aversions to the doorbell, strangers and having her tummy rubbed.
That's your cast of characters, ladies and gentlemen. I'm sure there will be others to introduce along the way. At least I hope so, for your sake. Otherwise this might end up being one of those creepy blogs with lots of YouTube videos of a chattering cat.
